 The Art of Dissent

I was in my 3rd year of college when suddenly before my last semester all my friends were freaking out about placements. All I could hear was, which MNC did you get into? How much are
they paying you? Hoping that they are not in the dreaded lot who don't get a job before graduation. In between all this chaos there was me, who did not even sign up for placements
and one of the very few who did not care about getting a job.

Because there was one thing I always knew, I did not want to live a life where my priority was money or security. I always wanted to go out and learn everything that looked
interesting to me or something that I wanted to do but scared the crap out of me.

Honest question?

Do you love your job?? If your answer is a resounding Yes I live for this shit! go ahead, it is amazing that you have found what you love to do in your everyday life.
If you don't, which is likely going to be 85-90% of people who live on this planet. STOP!

Because in another 70 years or max 90 more years you know you'll be dead and your grand kids aren't going to be misty eyed remembering how you got the Quarterly bonus or how
you were promoted to a level none of your colleagues could get to. Of course it is an achievement, your finances are secured, but think of this, do you want to live the rest of your life doing
the same damn thing you do every single day?? Because a ship is safe at the harbor, but that's not what ships are built for.

Having a job which interests you until you are learning something new all the time is amazing, but the minute the learning stops, stop, move out of it before you get
too comfortable and before you know that you don't have to put your brains to use anymore. Explore, try finding a job in
some corner of the world you never even dreamed of living in
because when you travel you challenge your mind and body to different levels.

If you want to travel and get paid try working part-time on a cruise as a bartender/ waitress,
for we get to live and learn every bit of the different cultures, food and the people who are so very different yet so similar.
Travel to countries where they do not speak any language that you are aware of, because as it is said, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."

And in the end you and only you will know the satisfaction of getting the answers to everything that you were curious about.

So go on, stay curious. Get out, learn, as breaking the monotony is going to make your "oh so tiny life" totally worthwhile!
